About

  • Tanuki is a shape-shifter, illusionist and scamp at large. He is known to appear in dreams to encourage mischief, and can take the form of any object or creature.

    Disguised as a monk, he once bought a boat off of a sailor. He paid generously, offering a gleaming bag of gold coins. Tanuki was long gone by the time the sailor reached into the bag, only to find the coins had turned to dry leaves.
